Hillside Pet Lodge is proudly owned and operated by Rachael and Melbourne Sann, who bring over 18 years of hands-on dog experience to our facility. As the owners of Hillside Standard Poodles, a New York State–licensed breeding program, our passion for exceptional canine care runs deep. Their daughter, Savana, has grown up alongside the program and has become an essential part of the business—helping run daily operations, managing doggy daycare, assisting with training, and bringing creativity and connection through our social media presence. Hillside Pet Lodge is truly a family-built and family-driven business.

Our journey began in 2018 when we started offering boarding exclusively to our puppy families. As demand and trust grew, we expanded and built a new, dedicated boarding facility to welcome dogs from all families in need of reliable, high-quality care.

From early on, Rachael and Savana shared a dream of developing Hillside Pet Lodge into a place where dogs could feel safe, loved, and at home—even when their families couldn’t be with them. Their vision, passion, and hands-on experience helped shape the warm, dependable environment that our clients know today.

Over the years, we’ve guided countless families in choosing the perfect pet, provided foundational training for puppies heading to new homes, and offered support and advice as dogs grow with their families. As lifelong pet owners ourselves, we understand how important—and how challenging—it can be to find compassionate, trustworthy care when you need to travel or take time away.

Our training is led by Alyssa, who brings patience, skill, and a deep understanding of canine behavior to every session.
